RDA's EASY-PEASY BATH SALT RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

1 ½ C Bath Salt

1 Tbsp. Carrier Oil

15-20 drops Essential Oil

2 Tbsp. Dried Lavender Flowers or Rose Buds *Optional

METHOD

Place a small amount of salt into a bowl (approximately 2 Tbsp.) and add the carrier oil - we used jojoba as it has a very long shelf life – and essential oil. Mix well, once oil is evenly incorporated, slowly add the remaining salt and dried flowers.

Wait until your bathtub is filled with water, then add ½ - 1C of your salt and swirl around to dissolve. This ensures that the essential oils do not evapourate away before you step in!

TYPES OF SALT

We offer two types of bath salts, Mineral Bath Salt and Dead Sea Salt. Our Mineral Bath Salt has natural mineral salt from Utah, refined sea salt and baking soda providing an ultimate therapeutic soak! Our Dead Sea Salt is rich with minerals and great for treatment of rheumatism and many skin ailments.

RDA STAFF TIPS

If you would like to blend essential oils together to create a synergy, it is best to mix the oils together and let them sit for a few weeks prior to adding them to any recipe. Start experimenting with just a few drops and you will notice as the oils mingle together the aroma will mature and change over time. As it changes you can have fun manipulating your recipe and trying new ones! Stay tuned for our Blending Basics article!

ESSENTAIL OIL FAVOURITES

Our favourite synergies for relaxing, calming baths are Five Minutes Peace and Tranquil Touch. Lavender, of course, is the ultimate oil to help de-stress from your day and lull yourself to sleep. We have three different lavenders to choose from: Lavender from FranceOrganic Lavender from Bulgaria and Lavender Maillette from South Africa. Our Lavender from Bulgaria has the unmistakable strong aroma of lavender while the French version is soft and well rounded. Lavender Maillette is a staff favourite, having a wonderfully spicy note that accentuates the lavender.
